General
Q: What is the Allpoint™ Network?
A: Allpoint is a national network of 32,000 ATMs that
offers ING Direct Customers surcharge-free access to their Electric Orange.
Q: What is an ATM surcharge fee?
A: A surcharge (also known as a convenience fee) is the
fee ATM owners may charge for using their ATMs.
Q: Where are Allpoint ATMs located?
A: Allpoint's 32,000 surcharge-free ATMs are located in all
50 states, including major retailers like Target, Rite Aid, Sunoco and many others.
ATM Usage
Q: I used an Allpoint ATM and the "surcharge message" screen
said I would be assessed a surcharge for the transaction I was attempting. Will I be
charged? Why does this happen?
A: No. Due to the technical limitations of certain types of
ATM machines, we are not able to prevent the "surcharge message" screen from appearing
on many Allpoint ATMs.
You should continue the transaction by answering "yes" on this screen. When you get
your receipt, you'll see that you were not assessed a surcharge.
Q: I used an Allpoint ATM and was incorrectly surcharged. How can
I get a refund for the fees assessed?
A: Click
here to get
additional information on how to submit a refund request via the
Allpoints Network web site.
Q: Your web site listed a certain ATM as part of your network, but
when I went to use the ATM, the Allpoint logo was not on the machine. Is this ATM still
surcharge-free?
A: Yes. All ATMs listed on this search tool
are surcharge-free, even if the Allpoint logo is not on the ATM. The Allpoints Network is
constantly adding new ATMs, and it may take 4-6 weeks to get the logo added onto these ATMs.
Q: Are there any limitations to how many times I can use an Allpoint ATM?
A: No. You have an unlimited number of surcharge-free transactions at
Allpoint ATMs.
Q: Can I still use ATMs that are not part of Allpoint?
A: Yes. Your ATM card will continue to work at ATMs that are not included
in the Allpoint network. However, you may be assessed a surcharge fee.
ATM Locator
Q: How does your ATM locator work?
A: It's easy! Simply type in an address, or city/state, or zip code, and
the locator will list the address of all Allpoint ATMs within 20 miles of the location.
Q: How often is the location data on your web site updated?
A: The ATM data used in the ATM locator is updated every two weeks to
reflect any changes to the Allpoint network locations.
Q: Can I get driving directions to an ATM?
A:In your list of ATMs, simply click on the name of the location and we
will take you to the Google? website where they will show you driving directions from your location
to the ATM. Keep in mind that by clicking on the link you are leaving the ING DIRECT website, and
